The training program at 4 Hearts Ranch specializes in competitive western performance horses. From starting 2 year olds, to finishing show horses, and from correcting problem horses to tuning up finished horses that have had some time off; we believe that each horse needs a solid foundation built on trust, patience, and overcoming challenges.
We feel in order to make the best horse possible we need to focus on all aspects of the horse, including not only the direct training of the horse but insisting on the best veterinary, hoof, and dental care available as well as providing a healthy diet and a happy, low stress living environment. Maximizing all of these variables takes what would be a good horse and produces a great horse. In the end, our program is designed with one major objective in mind, a horse’s lifelong success in all areas.
An exceptional horse is not only developed with the obvious patience and consistency needed but with clarity and simplicity of understanding their task and the rider’s cues. They may not be the one that slides the furthest or spins the fastest; but one that does their task correctly every time with simple cues and a willing attitude.
